DESCRIPTION:Ikuko Inoguchi and John Kane perform a programme of Mozart's unfinished work for violin and piano, completed by Emeritus Professor William Drabkin, along with Brahms' Rain Sonata, and Elegie by Johanna Senfter.

John and Ikuko met in 2021, while working at an independent school in West Berkshire. Since then they have been playing together as a violin-piano duo. They also perform regularly with their chamber music group, Nara Quartet.

John Kane's combines his experience as a professional violinist over 30 years with a passion to communicate in his music-making and teaching. His interests range from solo recitals, quartet and orchestral leading to folk music, jazz, and improvisation.

Acclaimed for her ability to display 'fascinating colourful tones' (Der Kessener), Ikuko Inoguchi is a concert pianist, scholar, and musicologist. Her practice-based research on the Japanese concept and performance practice of ma gave her opportunities to work with artists of traditional Japanese performing arts. In 2024, she premiered 'To-o-ne' for shakuhachi and piano by Morita Yasnoshin, supported by the Royal Music Association and Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation.

She will premiere 'Yama no Yuma' for shakuhachi and piano by Jim Franklin, inspired by finger sumi-e art work by Thorsten Schirmer in 2027.
