Writers in Conversation with Southampton's Rebecca Smith
online
Age suitable for: 7+
Rebecca Smith, novelist and principal teaching fellow in Creative Writing at the University of Southampton, will talk about her latest novel, "Shadow Cat Summer," with Carole Burns, the university's head of Creative Writing.
"Shadow Cat Summer," Smith's fifth novel but her first for young adults, was inspired by a stay at Moniack Mohr in the Scottish Highlands and her own and her children's love of the natural world.
As she talks with Burns about her work, they'll discuss the renewal one can gain from nature and the arts.
This event is part of the English department's Writers in Conversation series, a wonderful opportunity for readers and writers to learn about writing and the creative process.
The event will broadcast on YouTube Live (UoS Festival and Writers in Conversation) and on Facebook Live (@UoSEngagement).
