I am Dr Duygu Candarli, a lecturer in the Department of Languages, Cultures, and Linguistics. I investigate language use in real-life contexts. I led the development of a multilingual mini dictionary of digital forensics, working with police officers and forensic science experts from five countries.

At this event, you will explore the important role of linguistics in creating a mini dictionary of digital forensics terms. You will take part in a short, interactive talk where you will discover how linguistics can support real-world digital investigations. You will also join a fun quiz to test your vocabulary of digital forensics used by professionals!
You will discover why clear terminology matters in interpreting digital evidence. At the end of the event, you will be introduced to our free online dictionary and have the chance to ask questions. You will leave with a better understanding of the role of linguistics in digital forensics and the language of digital investigations.
