The Centre for Music Education and Social Justice (CMESJ) and Turner Sims (University of Southampton's music venue) invite you to a fun and inclusive ukulele workshop for all ages. No previous musical experience is needed!
Discover the power of one chord - within just 30 minutes of picking up a ukulele, you will be able to play a tune and enjoy making music alongside other people.
Along the way, we will explore some simple ideas about music, the brain and learning. What happens in our brain and body when we make music? Why do repetition and predictability help us learn? And how can we create musical experiences where people feel safe to explore, make mistakes and try again?
This is a relaxed and inclusive workshop, with sensory activities available alongside the music-making. You can join in as much or as little as you like - come and discover how much music we can make together with just one chord!
